So let me preamble this post by stating
1) I hate the Wii
2) I love my 360 (armor core for answer is my new all time favorite game…. minus the slow down that occurs sometimes).
3) I hate Colin and Gears of War 2 more then point 1 and 2

Wii set a new sales record outselling their previous record. View the article (at least for that awesome pie chart). Nintendo made up the majority of video game industry growth (i.e. growth as opposed to sales). So eat it Colin!

eat the hunderds of layoffs in the industry right now, nintendo is the only company not affected, egm just went under and sony + microsoft have had many layoffs, ps armord core is good but it would never even make my top 20 th fav game, ff 12 is the best game of all time and gears 2 does not suck it is awesome.

also nintendo hasnt put out any good first party games since brawl which was delayed a entire year and came out q1 last year, they have absolutely 0 games lined up for 09, unarguable the wii may sell but it is one of the worst consoles of all time and it shouldnt even qualify as a console, more like toy.

ummm by fun you mean FPS games because while I owned halo 3 and played it through i actually don’t like it very much. The enjoyment i got out of halo 3 is because of the 2 person campaign mode and the fact it was free (i wouldn’t pay for halo 3 now that i played it).
And yes there are a lot of layoffs going on everywhere currently… BECAUSE WE ARE IN A FUCKING GLOBAL RECESSION GENIUS! Nintendo being unaffected means they were smart enough to market games to the 90% of people that aren’t gamers. Sony has had layoffs because they decided it would be an awesome idea to make a system people can’t afford on the brink of a recession likened to the Great Depression. Nintendo on the other hand offers a experience the whole family can enjoy that cost less when you average it out against other entertainment formats (considering most wii owning families play it at least once a week as to say a movie which costs 10 bucks a ticket plus popcorn, drinks and anything else and lasts only 2-3 hours at most).
I’m tired of the weak ass argument that somehow nintendo is ruining the hardcore gaming industry. Here is a pro tip for those people. If you want hardcore games demand them with you friggan wallet and not yer yap-hole you use to whine on the precious internets. Start actually paying for them instead of buying them used (the money from used sales goes to gamestop not the companies) and renting them (again little money actually gets back to those companies when you rent) or even worse pirating them. As for egm it deserves to go as the issue i just bought was 7 bucks and was a few pages thick. Magazines on the whole are an almost dead format that deserves to die in my book.
Actually I also found Gears 2 generic in its use of color.. i can see from their vision of the emo futuristic wasteland the designers envisioned, the color pallet was chosen from a local Hot Topic because grey and black are the two colors i saw the most of.
Finally- Toys are something you play with for enjoyment (I hope) and video game consoles are something you play with for enjoyment (again I hope you do). THUS ALL GAMING SYSTEMS ARE TOYS!

Yes because everyones needs to devote their time, money and lives to “hardcore games” your stupidity knows no bounds. You seem to lack a basic understanding of economics as well as the times we are living in. Sony’s president said it best. Nintendo isn’t the hardcore gamer’s competition at all, ever. They are separate entities that aren’t mutually exclusive. The faster you stop thinking in binaries and see the bigger picture the faster you’ll be able to accept this. And for someone that seems to worry so much for other people’s profit you seem to lack any knowledge of what goes into making video games in terms of time and resources. You want to complain nintendo is ruining the industry but you offer zero in the way of actually proving your point or even solutions to the problem. I think in fact YOU ARE THE PROBLEM WITH “HARDCORE GAMING”! You’re so hung up on those two games your giving their marketing department the idea that hardcore gaming begins and ends with FPS like Halo or Gears which is why we have had a lot less games that actually progress gaming forward, from a non-technical perspective. Game developers like EA are getting punished with poor sales of titles that actually come up with new franchises revolutionize gaming. AGAIN YOU ARE KILLING THE HARDCORE GAMING MARKET NOT NINTENDO. If the industry dies it’s because all you buy are Halo and gears leaving no room for anything else.
So to summarize you are stupid and should probably go kill yourself if you value hardcore gaming.

now that you realize how stupid that is i can tell u halo made fps in to what it now is today, nintendo sells tons of casual games and what my hope was for the wii is that it would introduce people to games via casual games such as wii sports and then they would graduate to play better and deeper games.unfortunately they have not. and now if the wii didnt exist the 360 and ps3 wouldnt have this huge amount of competition to deal with and they could focus on doing things right. we have seen it with the nxe frigin microsoft copying miis to attract casual gamers and follow nintendo.
marketing is a dangerous thing when in the wrong hands. if u ask any modern day reviewer what their favorite console is it is not the wii, its ether ps3 or 360.<—fact
also if armored core fa is your favorite game thats just sad, halo 3 gta 4 and gears 2 are not even my favorite games and i have 15 hours into AC FA and it might just might make my top 40th or 35th game.

@Colin Yes I meant halo as a series. Halo was revolutionary yes i’ll give you that but the other two were less so then the first one. The others just expanded the franchise. In terms of the engine and game mechanics the call of duty series is in my opinion far more robust series. Halo just made FPS simple and easier to play for the casual FPS player (kinda like the Wii). So i stand by my statement. For me halo has always been a fairly generic FPS…. it does nothing for me and the fact you keep pointing to reviews tells me you seem to follow the heard/ hype mentality. AC3 FA is a favorite game of mine because I like mech games and old school type hack and slash if you look at reviews ign gave FC3FA a 8.9 so it’s not like its bad. GTA isn’t my thing either. If I wanted to walk around a city for three hours I could do that in real life. Now if i wanted to shoot somebody and beat a hooker… hell I still can so the appeal isn’t there
Anyways casual gamers don’t upgrade to more hardcore gaming experiences. If they are truly a casual fan then they don’t really appreciate game to the degree needed for more traditional video games.

Yeah, The Hado Kings have always had podfading issues. I understand that it’s tough to keep up a weekly or bi-weekly podcast. But I suppose it’s hard to find the motivation when you only have about a dozen listeners, right? I feel that the show really went downhill when Jordan was kicked off, it was best when he was around. Even if he is a liar, I would’ve forgave him. As always, I bet Jake will misinterpret what I’m saying and jump to conclusions, again. Seriously, just about all of my emails have come across as awkward. I think it’s because we’ve never had a formal back-and-forth conversation, it’s always one sided. I never get to explain myself..
I appreciate all that you guys have done, it was a fun show and I’m grateful for the prizes that have been sent to me. I think it’s about time I delete THK’s feed from my iTunes. If you ever want to get back to me or start the show again, you have my email.

I don’t think the show is over. Some stuff irl is just taking up all their time. Chad had some big time stuff go down with him and so did jake from what I can tell. And ken lives like 45 min away from jake’s place too, so add that in to the factor. I talked to ken awhile ago and he he told me that they had some shows in the queue, but they still needed editing. But he could have just been acting like me and be spiting lies for the hell of it. But I could be wrong, the only time I see them is when I go to gamestop which isn’t very often to say. I’m to busy lying to the rest of the planet to take time from my fake day to go lie to them.

So I haven’t been to this site in a while and thought I would see if it was still up. I think it would be funny if you guy’s were getting all butt hurt about the kings not doing any new episodes and it was because their computer broke or something like that. Although I haven’t seen Chad or Jake on XBox Live so I wouldn’t be surprised if they just stop doing the show and cut all ties to the listeners.
