I really think i need to bring this to everyone’s attention. Recently, I have been hearing shit from people and family about how a while back a 15 year old kid ran away from home because his parents took away his video games. THAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS (OF WAR). You know why? Because this kid is the worst example of gamers. It may not be even his fault. Maybe his parents accidently kept on dropping on his head when he was 2, Maybe his mom drank so much beer when she was pregnant with him that he got a deranged view of the world. I could go on…
Well, I think all of us here knows what happens after that! The media comes into play. Here’s what they say when they get this news. “Oooooh! Look another reason to tell everyone that video games kill brain cells and ruin childhoods. Hey! I have an idea! Lets put it on the front of our newspaper filled with nothing but biased view points and LIES!”.
You know what I have to say to that? “BULLSHIT!” has anybody noticed that all the media tries to do is make everyone shit scared of the world? Then your parents hear about it and say “OH MY FUCKING GOD! THIS PIECE OF RECYCLED PAPER TELLS ME THAT VIDEO GAMES ARE LIKE CRYSTAL METH AND SHOULD COMPLETELY BE ILLEGAL! LET’S ALL RUIN OUR KIDS FUN!!!!”
What’s even worse is the TIME this happened. Can you even believe it? It’s a flurry of games that have been coming our way! OH WAIT! SOME HORMONAL DIPSHIT RAN AWAY FROM HOME SO NOW EVERYONE LOOKS DOWN UPON US LIKE WE’RE A PILE DOGGY DOO!
You know what aspect of all of this these people should have looked at? The fact that the kid’s parents are terrible at taking care of kids. Instead of looking at the kid and how he fucked up the gaming industry cause he packed up his bags and left, let’s all look at what terrible people the parents are!
I hope to god that sad little bastard child get’s trapped in Saw’s chamber cause he deserves it. Let’s hope to god that he’s in Saw 5 or something because HE’S A DOUCHE CANOE.

Well andrew here is the deal. There is studies and discourse that goes both ways (that’s what she said). But the fact is that gamers (the fans, not the developers, programers etc) tend not to be the most well read people (of course in general). Gamers are easy targets because they spend most of their time playing games and thus don’t have the most well thought out opinions and are kinda useless in any debate as to the benefits or side effects of video gaming.
As much as there anecdotal evidence showing successful people who are gamers there are far better examples of how video games have ruined people’s life. So the next time you want to complain about how the media is picking on gamers. Read a book…or a PDF of a book. That way the next time they have this debate you’ll be able to contribute something useful instead of the usual quotes of “OMG, GAMERS ARE LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE. I PLAY 360 60 HOURS A WEEK AND IT HASN’T AFFECTED ME AT ALL!!!1111111″

I seriously think there are WAY too many people who are bad examples to the gaming world. If the media wants to say “let’s make an article about how video games wreck your engrish skills” they can blame World of Warcraft. I like to think of WoW as the addictive marijuana of video games.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think it’s console gamers who appear least negatively in the paper. It’s usually Wii owners who throw their controllers through their 52 inch Plasma HD T.V.which are worth a fortune (not really). It’s usually violence in video games in general or racing games effecting peoples driving skills.
I gotta get to bed.I still wonder why I’m playing the Godfather with so many other games to play right now. Fallout 3 tomorrow! (for North America at least haha)

Yes, I don’t play video games all that much but in the REAL world we follow logic not Colin-isms. Playing the Actual game and not basing my opinions on trailers follows normal fucking logic (do you base all your movie opinions on a teaser (note: i said teaser which usually has less actual information on a movie then the trailer. Just like how a game trailer usually tells you nothing about the actual game play of a game because guess what you’re not fucking playing the game). HOW CAN THAT BE EPIC FAIL?

Didn’t we already determine a while back that YOU have rather arbitrary opinions on video games (especially Wii games). So you my friend are the LAST PERSON IN THE WORLD to declare “EPIC FAIL” on me buddy. If anyone should reexamine there opinions it would have to be you. I know I’m not the most learned on video games but i’m using basic logic (and last time I checked everyone has some level of basic logic… I think with some exceptions).
SO IN CONCLUSION. There is no epic fail at all in my argument.

Good Morning, Everyone!
Well look what we have here. Colin is trying to get everyone to like Gears of War 2 as usual and MMD is having fun pissing him off. Well, you know what I say? I say, Fallout 3 is a really great game and everyone should at least rent it. Although, it’s pretty hard to get into at the very beginning (first 20-30 minutes maybe) because everyone talks to you like a retard child (which you kind of are at the time). It turns out to be really fun when you get the option of blowing up a small town.
Don’t worry ’bout Gears 2 yet. Who knows, It might be better than the last one or it might just be more of the same. I say we all just take a chill pill and play some of the sweet games that have been coming out recently.

Reason why I don’t play games: Short story I own a Wii….
Long story: I own a wii about 45 minutes by car 2 hours by local transit away from me and when I do get to play with my friends system’s (also a wii) it’s rockband…. so thus i need to be very drunk as I only sing (and not very well). The last game I really liked a lot/ committed to playing was Phantasy Star Online episode 1 and 2… I haven’t finished it yet but when I do I’ll play something else.
